Why Viridian Moon?

October 26, 2020

Dear Fellow Artists,

Since receiving my initial letter you’ve might been wondering: why Viridian Moon?

So I would like to share the story behind the name…

For many years I’ve been a huge fan of a Russian painter - Arkhip Kuindzhi (1842-1910) often referred to as Russian Master of Light, who is worldwide famous for his nocturnes. I am finding his work simply mesmerizing, particularly his renown “Moonlight night on the Dniepr river” (see in the attach). For years this artwork has been my source of inspiration and a symbol of an artist’s boldness.  Therefore, I decided to name our gallery “Viridian Moon”… isn’t it off the beaten path just like Kuindzhi’s work?

Best Regards,

Irina
